CB RADIO & CB RADIO RADIO ANTENNAS
What are truly the best CB Radio Antennas you can buy or build?
Why did I build this CB radio website?
I built it in the spirit of CB radio to offer encouragement and support CB radio operators, and to attempt to offer friendly advice, kind assistance and counsel to the beginning amateur radio operator and maybe a few already licensed tech amateur operators as well. I believe that the consideration and interests of others to be an important mark of good amateur radio practice and spirit. I have always updated my equipment and tried to be up to date in general amateur radio knowledge, maybe I can pass along some useful info to someone else along the way from cb radio operators all the way up to the expert amateurs.
As an avid builder of Antennas including having built and used just about every CB antenna ever made, I graduated to Amateur radio where there I built and used another 70 or so antennas. I now regularly build and test amateur radio antennas for amateur experimenters like myself as well as some amateur radio manufacturers around the world.
My favorite cb antenna & amateur radio antenna as far as beam antennas go for the CB & HF bands 10- 20 meters is the Cubical Quad antenna.
I have built dozens of them, and continue to model, test and research more variations of them. as of 2020.
This site will show you what many of these antennas are , how good or not good they really are and how to build simple vertical antennas all the way up to easily built yagi and cubical quad antennas.
Personally I look for the rare DX where I can find it, and work SSB exclusively.
I also do like to challenge myself occasionally on 10 meters with the help of good friend, working distant Groundwave only contacts
I have made quite a few contacts over the years over 300 Plus miles. Not Skip or DX just Groundwave.Today? Impossible you say, well read on.
I have been an ham radio operator for over 25 years. And before that a avid CB Radio guy since I was 12. Hopefully I can help you build your cb radio antennas & amateur radio antennas.
I am not going to bore you with pages and pages of CB Radio theory or jargon, which are meaningless to both you and me.
But I will try to get to the heart of the matter by telling you what you need to know when you build a cb radio antenna. Which antennas are truly the best for cb radio and why, so be ready for real information not just endless forum posting by people who have owned only 1 antenna their entire life and now are apparently experts.
I have built all kinds of CB Radio antennas including the Cubical Quad antenna, Yagi antenna, Wire antennas, Vertical antennas, Imax 2000's, Antron 99's PKW Antennas, Sirio Antennas, Wilson, Francis, K40, Shakespeare, Sigma, Comet, Maco, Jo Gunn, Intercepter 10K antennas, Wolf .64, Avanti, FireStix, HamSticks, Cobra, Gizmotchy, Tram, Steppir, Hygain, Mosley, Cushcraft, MFJ, you name it.
I do have a beautiful model wife who supports my hobby, and even makes some of the amateur radio hamfests around the country.
Other hobbies include, Drag Racing, Collecting records, Flying RC planes, I have owned several hobby stores and online hobby businesses.
